BIKEFITTING.COM   Many bicycle shops do not fit their customers to their bikes.  Big volume shops rarely have the time or expertise to do so.  We fit every single customer on their bike from entry level to the top of the line.  We view the fitting not as a one shot deal but as a process.  A fit is only as good as the rider is comfortable, and sometimes biofeedback is necessary to get the bike dialed for better comfort.  We help choose the correct size bicycle, then set the saddle position and reach for the proper fit.  If different seat posts or stems are necessary for customization, then those steps are take to ensure the customer is fit properly.

We also offer a "pro fitting" available by appointment.  There are a handful of fitting systems on the market.  We use the Dutch system from bikefitting.com.  Visit their website for more details.  We use mechanical devices to measure the body.  The data is input to the computer which prints a cad drawing of the ideal bicycle frame dimensions, crank length, stem length, and handlebar width.  This process is necessary for custom build frames, but is mostly used for riders purchasing high performance road bicycles and triathletes.  We charge $150 for the fitting service. If you buy a bike from us valued at $1500 or more the pro fitting is complementary.  The reason we charge for the service is because our system virtually guarantees a perfect fit, and because some people want to buy a brand of bicycle that we don't carry, from a shop that does not offer fittings.  We can also fit you on your current bike, and our current rate is $60 per hour for that service.

Jeffrey Turck has been professionally certified as a fitting specialist by Barnetts Bicycle Institute, by Bikefitting.com, and also by the Dan Empfield (of Quintana Roo) F.I.S.T. triathlete fitting seminar at the Litespeed "top 100 dealers conference" in 2003.
